Golden Lion Casino Review

Golden Lion Casino was launched by Blue Media in 2016, arguably one of the busiest years for online casino launches! If you’re in the United States, you’ll be pleased to know that it’s one of the few that happily accepts US players. Let’s take a closer look at what’s on offer at Golden Lion and whether it gets the thumbs up from us.

Design and Theme

When you first land on the homepage, the overall design feels strong but quite basic. There is a black background with a gold lion (the sites logo) in the middle, along with gold font and gold bar along the top taking you to the following sections: Home, About, Banking, Games and Promotions. The font here is a little disappointing, there looks to be no effort gone into this part at all, and when you click into these sections, it’s the same generic font which makes the site look a little amateurish, which is a shame. However, things do improve further down the homepage.

We have the current welcome bonus banner, and below this are gold headings with previews for video poker, table games and special games. The font here is more exciting and falshy and fits in well with the site, however, as you scroll further down, we’re back to the generic lettering and lack-lustre design as you read further information about the site itself, the bonuses and games.

There’s more wording than imagery and design, which isn’t needed. There’s plenty of online casinos that manage to get the content onto the site without detracting from the design, so if a little more thought had gone into this area, it would feel more exciting straight away.

It’s a nice idea and a really easy site to navigate, just not the most visually appealing.

Games and Software

Rival games is the software powering the site. There’s only this one provider, so many of the popular well-known titles won’t be available, but Rival software is reputable and there is plenty of choice. There are mainly 3 and 5 reel slots, so plenty of classic gameplay for those who enjoy the traditional slots. But Rival have also developed their own brand of interactive games called I-slots. I-Slots are designed to be more interactive, rather than just spinning the reels over and over, and there are two types of I-Slots available.

The first is a type of story game play, where players follow a storyline and more of the story is revealed as you journey through the game. The second is more skills based where players can win additional prizes by completing a small skill-based challenge. Both of these are great ways to hold player interest and add something extra to the standard slot game format.

If you’re looking to find the tradition table and card games, Golden Lion doesn’t disappoint here. There is plenty of choice when it comes to blackjack, baccarat, American roulette, European roulette, Pai Gow poker and craps.

Other information

There are several ongoing offers and promotions, so head to the promotions tab for all the latest offerings.

Crediting your account is simple as Golden Lion offers players plenty of popular banking options. Mastercard, Visa, Neteller, Bank Wire, Skrill and Paysafecard are all accepted. However, the processing times are longer than usual, some taking up to a week, and it’s also worth noting that bank wire and credit card withdrawals have a $50 fee.

There is plenty of support on hand with help available via email, phone and live chat and all sensitive personal and banking information is protected by 128 bit SSL encryption.

Golden Lion is one of your traditional, entry level casinos. It’s got a nice selection of games, the layout is simple, but there’s nothing unique or exciting about it. If a basic, traditional online casino is what you’re after, Golden Lion is a good choice.
